The digitization of the education system must guarantee educational activities: VC AIOU

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Professor Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum said the COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious threat to the education system around the world and the digitization of educational systems. teaching and examination is the only panacea to the problem of the sustainability of the education system during the current pandemic.

Here he was addressing on Tuesday the opening ceremony of a two-day training workshop organized by the Department of Distance, Non-formal and Continuing Education for newly appointed / promoted faculty and administrative staff in various departments of AIOU.

Professor Zia informed the participants that all administrative, financial and academic operations of the university have recently been digitized.

Vice Chancellor AIOU said that the university’s adoption of new technologies has not only helped the continuation of all educational activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has also streamlined them.

Prof. Dr. Mehmood ul Hassan Butt, ex-vice chancellor of AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mehmood, dean of the faculty of education, and other senior officers while addressing the assembly a urged the newly inducted teachers and officers to work with total dedication and to assist the university in educating the masses of the country.

On this occasion, the heads of the various administrative and service departments made presentations on their relevant departments.

Dr Ajmal, Chairman of the Department of Distance, Non-Formal and Continuing Education, explained the objectives of the two-day workshop and thanked and welcomed all participants, especially the Vice-Chancellor, Deans and department heads.
