UW’s Masters in Educational Leadership Program named ‘Best in the West’

LARAMIE – The University of Wyoming’s Online Masters Program in Educational Leadership was named ‘Best in the West’ for 2021 by Intelligent.com in its ranking of the “50 Best Masters Programs in Educational Leadership.”

The best programs are affordable, respected and flexible, the website says.

“We are delighted to see our high quality program receiving the ‘Best of the West’ rating, and we agree. Our masters program is a thoughtfully designed blend of academic scholarships and practical applications that prepares our candidates for demanding and meaningful work in school administration, ”says Barbara Hickman, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Educational Leadership Program at the UW.

Intelligent.com evaluated 242 programs from 160 institutions to select the top 50. Each program has been rated on the basis of flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost, and reputation. The website then calculated a “smart score” for each program on a scale of zero to 100. UW’s College of Education ranked 27th nationally among the best colleges for a master’s degree in educational leadership. Check out the rankings here.

“This year gave us the opportunity to refine the online parts of our program, including how to complete a virtual internship, to make our program even more flexible. We strive to continually improve our course offerings and delivery methods to meet the needs of practicing educators, ”said Hickman.
